INCA TRAIL

2020: CUSCO INCA TRAIL + MOUNTAIN OF 7 COLOURS 5 DAYS/ 4 NIGHTS

HISTORY: In the time of the Incas there were two kinds of road, one that is the real road called (qapaqñan) in the Quechua term, and the other; common road (runaq purinan) in Quechua; these roads were known as seqe which meant roads the king (Inca) only made use of the royal road that connected each of the cities, but in each road there were small villages where the Inca could take his rest, so that in this excursion that we started from km. 104 is a religious road that joins the city of Machupicchu, and where the famous chaski traveled kilometers away carrying his quipu (curdas with knot) so that the representative of each ayllu would connect with the Inca and Solve the social problems that there would be.

ITINERARY 

DAY: 01. TRANSFER AIRPORT – HOTEL

Transfer airport – hotel, optional according to free time of the passenger, visit of principal streets and plazas of Cusco, famous street of 12 stone angles in San Blas quarter. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY: 02. CUSCO  – KM 104 – CHACHABAMBA- WIÑAYHUAYNA – AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN

Pick up from the hotel at 4:30 am; trip to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train until we reach km 104 where we will begin our hike of the Inca Trail for 2 days / 1 night. Our adventure begins with an uphill walk for about 4 hours until we arrive at the archaeological site of  Winawayna (forever young), where we will be enjoying our lunch (box lunch) in the middle of the mountains, free time to rest and enjoy of the beautiful view.
After resting, we will continue our walk and this time to the place called “Inti Punku” or the door of the sun, where we will be enjoying a wonderful view of 1 of the 7 wonders of the world: Machupicchu. Then we will descend by tourist bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, which is under the Inca city. Time to have dinner.  Overnight in Aguas Calientes town.

Optional in the afternoon visit of the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes.

DAY: 03. AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

Breakfast, early in coordination with the guide, we will ascend by bus to the Inca citadel of Machupicchu, for the guided tour at 2:30 hrs. We will visit the different places of the citadel: Temples, palaces, healing houses, a sundial, the industrial sector and the fields of cultivation. After that, you will have free time to explore this magnificent Inca construction, in the afternoon descend on foot to the town of Aguas Calientes. At the indicated time board the tourist train will return to Ollantaytambo station and then by bus return to Cusco city.

DAY: 04. 7 COLOURS MOUNTAIN : Pick up from the hotel at 4:30 am, travel to the town of Checacupe (south of Cusco), arrival at the town of Cusipata, breakfast, then walk to the hill 7 colors or Rainbow Mountain (5000 masl), return to the town, lunch. Return to Cusco and overnight in Cusco.

DAY: 05. CENTRAL MARKET OF CUSCO – TRANSFER TO AIRPORT 

Breakfast, optional visit to central market of Cusco city, Transfer to airport.
