MACHUPICCHU BY CAR 2 DAYS/1 NIGHT

TRAVEL ITINERARY:

DAY 1: TOUR CUSCO – HIDRO ELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES (MACHUPICCHU PUEBLO)

Pick up from the hotel at 7 am, departure at 7:30 am from Plaza Regocijo, trip to the town of Ollantaytambo; brief stop of 20 minutes and then continue the ascent to Abra de Málaga located at 4316 (muasl), where you can see the wonderful landscapes of the puna area. Brief stop, then begin the descent to the jungle, the trip continues to the town of Santa Maria (1575 muasl), and the town of Santa Teresa arriving at 13 pm for lunch. Finally we will continue the road towards the hydroelectric station arriving at 15 pm, from where we will start the 9.5 km walk to the town of Aguas Calientes located at the foothills of the Inca citadel of Machupicchu, arriving at the village at 17: 30 pm and from there we will be located in the respective hostels. At 20 pm will be the dinner where all the information will be provided by the guide who will visit Machupicchu the next day. Overnight in Aguas Calientes. Optional visit to the hot springs of Aguas Calientes.

DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU – HIDRO ELECTRICA – CUSCO

Breakfast at 5 am, ascent to the Inca citadel of Machupicchu with a walk that lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. Arrival to the citadel and group tour for 2:30 hours, touring the urban sector, religious sector, agricultural sector among other places, then free time for photos until 11 am, then the descent on foot to the town of Aguas Calientes, and start the return on foot to the Hydroelectric station and be able to board the return transport to the town of Santa Teresa, optional time of 20 minutes for lunch. From there we return to the city of Cusco by the same route that we arrived arriving at 21:00 p.m. approximately at Plaza Regocijo.

Optional: ascent and descent to the Inca citadel by tourist bus, trip lasts 30 minutes each route, train trip from Hidroeléctrica – town of Aguas Calientes – Hydroelectric
