CUSCO INCA TRAIL 4 DAYS/ 3 NIGHTS
HISTORY: In the time of the Incas there were two kinds of road, one that is the real road called (qapaqñan) in the Quechua term, and the other; common road (runaq purinan) in Quechua; these roads were known as seqe which meant roads the king (Inca) only made use of the royal road that connected each of the cities, but in each road there were small villages where the Inca could take his rest, so that in this excursion that we started from km.82 is a religious road that joins the city of Machupicchu, and where the famous chaski traveled kilometers away carrying his quipu (curdas with knot) so that the representative of each ayllu would connect with the Inca and Solve the social problems that there would be.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: CUSCO – PISCACUCHU (KM82) / WAYLLABAMBA
Pick up from the hotel at 5:00 am, travel to the community of Piscacucho km 82, before reaching this community we will have a stop in the town of Ollantaytambo so you can buy what you need for the walk and have your breakfast (optional ), arriving at km 82 the guide will introduce us to the staff with whom we will share the adventure trip (carrier). In the first check you have to show your original passport with which you made the reservation for the trip and thus avoid problems when entering. The walk from the starting point to the camp is 7 hours. Overnight in Wayllabamba (Snack, lunch, dinner)
DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYU.
Breakfast in Wayllabamba, and start of the ascent to the dead woman’s shelter (Warmiwañusca) which is at 4250 meters above sea level, the travel time is 4 hours from the camp to the pass; and the descent of the road is on a staircase, lunch in the camp at 3600 masl, the area is cold.
The journey from the top to the camp is 3 hours, and in the afternoon they will have the day off for rest. Overnight camps are indicated by the government to avoid congestion, overnight in Phuyupatamarca or Wiñaywayna (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).
DAY 3: PACAYMAYU – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYHUAYNA.-
Breakfast, the tour of the third day is impressive, walk along the trails of the Incas, the original Inca trail of ascent and descent, and also visit small archaeological parks such as Runcuracay, Sayaq brand, Phuyupatamarca, the walk is 8 hours. Overnight in Wiñaywayna. (Breakfast lunch dinner)
NOTE: In the months of December, January and March for being the months of rain generally it descends to the town of Hot Waters to avoid inconveniences in the trip
DAY 4: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPUCCHU – CUSCO.-
The guide will indicate the awake time to have breakfast; the control of the Wiñaywayna sector is from 5:00 am, here the passport must be shown, the walk is calmer by impressive landscapes on the edge of the Machupicchu mountain. In the course of 1:30 hours we will be arriving at the Inti punco (or entrance gate of Machupicchu), from that point we will be enjoying the visibility of the citadel of Machu Picchu, in a tour of 2:30 hours.
After the tour the passengers will enjoy around the citadel, then descend to the town of Aguas Calientes so they can have lunch. Optional visit of the thermal baths. In the afternoon, the tourist train will return to the Ollantaytambo train station, where the transfer will pick you up to bring you to the city of Cusco. (Breakfast).
