LIMA CITY OF THE COLONIAL KINGS

DAY 1: LIMA

Arrival to Lima city, transfer to Hotel in Miraflores district. Free afternoon to visit Commercial shopping center of Larcomar, beaches. Overnight in Lima.

DAY 2: PACHACAMAC – BARRANCO (Departures from Tuesday to sunday).

Breakfast. At 9:30 am I pick up from the hotel and travel to La Ciudadela Sagrada de Pachacamac impressive archaeological site of Lima, located in the valley of Lurín at 31 km. It was a settlement of pre-Inca cultures: Wari culture, The cult of Pachacamac was the center of all coastal religion. Pachacamac means “soul of the earth, the one that animates the world”. Visit the archaeological complex, the pyramids with ramps, the streets that unified the sacred city of Pachacámac, the Pintado temple, the temple of the Sun and the Acllahuasi or house of the chosen women.
Then we visit the traditional and bohemian district of Barranco, where the famous Bridge of Los Suspiros stands out, after the hill of “Salto del Fraile”, the marshes of Villa appreciating spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Return and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: CITY TOUR

09 am ó 14 pm.  Duration 3:30 hrs. Breakfast, CITY TOUR.  The best tour to know Lima city and its history en three different periods: pre-hispanic, colonial and modern time.

LIMA PRE HISPACNIC TIME: We begin our tour with a panoramic view of the “Huaca Pucllana” (sacre prehispanic place), magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century AD. and considered “Sacred Town” by the Incas. The viceroyalty of Peru was the most important of the Spanish Empire and Lima was its capital

LIMA COLONIAL TIME: We visit the Historical Center of Lima, where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and colonial buildings, highlighting the “Paseo de la República”, Plaza San Martín, the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, the Municipal Palace between others. We visited the Monumental Complex of San Francisco, which is the largest sample of colonial religious art in America. Highlights the visit to its underground crypts known as “Catacombs

LIMA CONTEMPORARY TIME: We visit the more traditional residential areas of Lima, El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores and Larcomar. Lunch. Return to the hotel. Airport transfer
